Terms & Conditions & Disclaimer
Last updated: August 2026
These Terms & Conditions and Disclaimer ("Terms") apply to the website, educational material, consultations and other services provided by Dive Into Bitcoin ("Dive Into Bitcoin", "we", "us" or "our").
By accessing this website, using our educational material, booking a consultation, participating in a session, or otherwise using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use our services.
1. About Dive Into Bitcoin
Dive Into Bitcoin provides Bitcoin education and technical assistance designed to help individuals better understand Bitcoin and learn how to use Bitcoin-related software, hardware wallets, self-custody tools and related technologies.
Our services may include educational consultations, wallet setup assistance, hardware wallet guidance, self-custody education, multisignature wallet education, Bitcoin node assistance, transaction and UTXO education, Lightning Network education, inheritance and backup planning concepts, and other Bitcoin-related technical education.
Our objective is to help users understand the tools available to them and make their own informed decisions.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Dive Into Bitcoin does not take custody of clients' Bitcoin, private keys, seed phrases or other credentials capable of controlling their Bitcoin.
2. Educational Services Only
Information provided by Dive Into Bitcoin is provided for general educational and informational purposes only.
Nothing provided through our website, consultations, documents, presentations, emails, messages, social media accounts or other communications should be interpreted as personal financial advice, investment advice, taxation advice, legal advice or a recommendation to purchase, sell or hold Bitcoin or any other asset.
We may explain how Bitcoin works, demonstrate Bitcoin-related tools, discuss security practices, compare wallet configurations, explain different custody arrangements and discuss the advantages, disadvantages and risks associated with various approaches.
However, the ultimate decision regarding whether to acquire Bitcoin, how much Bitcoin to acquire, whether to sell Bitcoin, how Bitcoin should be stored and which security arrangement should be used remains entirely with the client.
You should obtain independent professional financial, taxation or legal advice where appropriate to your individual circumstances.
3. No Investment Recommendations
Dive Into Bitcoin does not guarantee or predict the future price, performance or value of Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is a volatile asset and its market value can increase or decrease significantly over short periods of time.
Past performance is not an indication or guarantee of future performance.
Any discussion of Bitcoin's historical performance, monetary characteristics, adoption, scarcity, market behaviour or potential future use is provided for educational purposes only.
You are solely responsible for deciding whether owning Bitcoin is appropriate for you.
Never invest money you cannot afford to lose.
4. Self-Custody Carries Responsibility
Bitcoin self-custody gives users direct control over their Bitcoin but also places significant responsibility on the user.
Depending on your setup, losing or exposing information such as a seed phrase, private key, passphrase, wallet backup, multisignature configuration or other recovery information may result in permanent loss or theft of Bitcoin.
Bitcoin transactions are generally irreversible.
There may be no bank, company, administrator or other central authority capable of reversing a transaction or recovering Bitcoin if you make a mistake.
By choosing to self-custody Bitcoin, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
5. You Remain in Control
Dive Into Bitcoin's role is to educate and assist, not to take control of your Bitcoin.
During consultations, we may guide you through processes such as:
-
creating a Bitcoin wallet;
-
configuring a hardware wallet;
-
generating receiving addresses;
-
verifying addresses;
-
connecting wallet software;
-
configuring multisignature wallets;
-
setting up or connecting to a Bitcoin node;
-
creating or verifying wallet backups;
-
understanding transaction fees;
-
selecting UTXOs;
-
constructing transactions;
-
signing transactions;
-
testing wallet recovery procedures; and
-
understanding backup and inheritance arrangements.
Where possible, you should personally perform all security-sensitive actions.
You remain responsible for verifying what is displayed on your devices and understanding what you are authorising.
6. Seed Phrases and Private Keys
Dive Into Bitcoin will never need your seed phrase or private key in order to provide legitimate educational assistance.
You should never send, email, photograph, upload, dictate, screen-share or otherwise disclose your seed phrase or private keys to Dive Into Bitcoin.
You should also never disclose this information to anyone claiming to represent Dive Into Bitcoin.
If someone claiming to represent Dive Into Bitcoin asks you to provide your seed phrase or private key, do not provide it.
Contact us through the official contact information published on our website.
During a consultation, you are responsible for ensuring that seed phrases, private keys, passphrases and other sensitive information are not visible to cameras, screen-sharing software, recording software or other people.
If a seed phrase or private key is accidentally revealed during a consultation, you should consider that information potentially compromised and take appropriate steps to secure your Bitcoin.
7. Passphrases
Bitcoin wallet passphrases can provide additional security but can also significantly increase the risk of accidental loss if they are misunderstood, forgotten or incorrectly backed up.
A passphrase is not necessarily recoverable.
Depending on the wallet system being used, entering a different passphrase may generate an entirely different wallet rather than displaying an "incorrect password" warning.
Dive Into Bitcoin may explain passphrase functionality and assist clients in understanding appropriate backup strategies, but the client remains solely responsible for creating, remembering and securely backing up any passphrase they choose to use.
8. Multisignature Wallets
Multisignature wallets can provide additional security and redundancy but introduce additional complexity.
Successful recovery may require more than simply possessing seed phrases.
Depending on the configuration, wallet descriptors, extended public keys, derivation information, quorum information and other wallet configuration data may also be important.
Dive Into Bitcoin may provide education and technical assistance regarding multisignature configurations but cannot guarantee that a particular configuration will remain appropriate indefinitely.
Clients using multisignature are responsible for understanding their setup, maintaining adequate backups and periodically verifying that recovery remains possible.
9. Hardware Wallets and Third-Party Devices
Dive Into Bitcoin may demonstrate, discuss or assist with products manufactured or developed by third parties.
References to particular hardware wallets, software wallets, Bitcoin nodes, exchanges or other products do not constitute guarantees regarding their security, reliability or future performance.
Hardware and software may contain undiscovered vulnerabilities.
Manufacturers may discontinue products.
Firmware may change.
Software may contain bugs.
Companies may cease operating.
Security recommendations may change as new information becomes available.
You are responsible for determining whether you are comfortable using a particular product.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Dive Into Bitcoin is independent from third-party manufacturers and software developers discussed through our services.
10. Open-Source Software
Many Bitcoin tools rely on open-source software developed and maintained by independent developers.
Open-source software may change over time and may contain bugs, vulnerabilities or unexpected behaviour.
Dive Into Bitcoin cannot guarantee that any particular version of Bitcoin-related software is free from defects or security vulnerabilities.
Users should independently verify software sources and maintain appropriate backups before performing significant wallet operations.
11. Software and Firmware Updates
Bitcoin-related software, hardware wallets and firmware change regularly.
Instructions, screenshots or recommendations published by Dive Into Bitcoin may therefore become outdated.
You are responsible for checking whether instructions remain applicable to the version of software or hardware you are using.
Exercise particular caution before installing firmware, restoring wallets, migrating wallets or performing other operations involving private keys or seed phrases.
12. Bitcoin Transactions
Before broadcasting a Bitcoin transaction, you are responsible for verifying all relevant transaction details.
This includes, where applicable:
-
the destination address;
-
the amount being sent;
-
transaction fees;
-
the Bitcoin network being used;
-
the UTXOs being spent;
-
change outputs;
-
privacy implications; and
-
information displayed on your hardware wallet or signing device.
Dive Into Bitcoin may assist you in understanding these details but cannot reverse a Bitcoin transaction after it has been broadcast and confirmed.
You remain responsible for authorising and signing your transactions.
13. Test Transactions
Where practical, Dive Into Bitcoin may recommend using small test transactions before transferring significant amounts of Bitcoin.
However, successfully completing a test transaction does not guarantee that future transactions will be performed correctly.
Users should independently verify every transaction.
14. Bitcoin Network Fees
Bitcoin transaction fees vary according to network demand and other factors.
Any fee estimates discussed during consultations or displayed in educational material are estimates only.
Dive Into Bitcoin does not control Bitcoin network fees and cannot guarantee that a transaction will confirm within a particular period of time.
15. Bitcoin Network Risks
Bitcoin is an evolving decentralised network.
Although Bitcoin has operated for many years, future technical, regulatory, economic or network events cannot be predicted with certainty.
Potential risks may include software vulnerabilities, consensus disputes, chain reorganisations, network congestion, protocol changes, mining disruptions and other unforeseen events.
Dive Into Bitcoin cannot guarantee the continued operation, value, compatibility or security of the Bitcoin network.
16. Exchanges and Custodial Services
Dive Into Bitcoin may discuss or demonstrate Bitcoin exchanges, custodians or other third-party services.
Using a custodial service introduces risks that differ from self-custody.
These risks may include insolvency, hacking, withdrawal restrictions, regulatory intervention, account suspension and loss of access.
Mentioning a service does not constitute a guarantee or endorsement of that service.
Users are responsible for performing their own due diligence before depositing Bitcoin or money with any third party.
17. Scams and Impersonation
Bitcoin users are frequently targeted by phishing attacks, fake wallet applications, fraudulent websites, impersonation attempts and social-engineering attacks.
Dive Into Bitcoin will never ask you to send Bitcoin simply to "verify" a wallet.
Dive Into Bitcoin will never ask you to provide your seed phrase or private key.
Dive Into Bitcoin cannot be held responsible for communications sent by individuals falsely claiming to represent Dive Into Bitcoin.
Always verify that you are communicating through our official website or contact channels.
18. Remote Consultations and Screen Sharing
Some consultations may involve video calls, screen sharing or remote demonstrations.
You are responsible for ensuring sensitive information is not displayed during these sessions.
Before screen sharing, close applications and documents containing information you do not wish to disclose.
Seed phrases, private keys and passphrases should never be intentionally displayed through screen sharing.
Dive Into Bitcoin does not require remote control of your device in order for you to disclose private keys or seed phrases.
19. Physical Security
Bitcoin security involves more than cybersecurity.
The location and method used to store hardware wallets, seed backups, passphrases and other recovery information may create risks involving theft, fire, flood, coercion, accidental destruction or unauthorised access.
Dive Into Bitcoin may discuss general physical-security concepts, but you remain responsible for determining an appropriate security arrangement for your circumstances.
Do not disclose the location of your Bitcoin backups unnecessarily.
20. Inheritance and Estate Planning
Dive Into Bitcoin may provide general educational information about Bitcoin inheritance and recovery planning.
This does not constitute legal or estate-planning advice.
Inheritance arrangements can have significant legal, taxation and security implications.
You should obtain independent professional advice when developing a formal estate plan.
You remain responsible for ensuring that beneficiaries can recover Bitcoin without unnecessarily exposing information while you are alive.
21. Taxation
Dive Into Bitcoin does not provide taxation advice unless expressly stated otherwise and legally permitted.
Bitcoin transactions may create taxation obligations depending on your jurisdiction and circumstances.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate records and obtaining professional taxation advice where required.
22. Privacy
Bitcoin transactions are recorded on a public blockchain.
Although Bitcoin addresses do not inherently contain a person's name, transactions and addresses may potentially be associated with individuals through blockchain analysis or information obtained from exchanges and other services.
Actions such as address reuse, combining UTXOs and consolidating Bitcoin may affect your financial privacy.
Dive Into Bitcoin may explain these concepts but cannot guarantee anonymity or privacy.
23. Information Accuracy
Dive Into Bitcoin makes reasonable efforts to provide accurate and useful information.
However, Bitcoin technology develops rapidly.
Information may become outdated, incomplete or incorrect as software, hardware, regulations and industry practices change.
We do not guarantee that every piece of information published on our website or provided during consultations will remain accurate indefinitely.
Where significant amounts of Bitcoin are involved, users should independently verify critical information before acting.
24. No Guarantee of Security
There is no Bitcoin custody setup that can be guaranteed to eliminate every possible risk.
Increasing protection against one threat can sometimes increase exposure to another.
For example, adding additional backups may improve redundancy while increasing the number of locations that must be protected from unauthorised access.
Security arrangements should therefore be considered according to the user's individual circumstances and threat model.
Dive Into Bitcoin cannot guarantee that any recommended or discussed setup will prevent theft, loss, hardware failure, user error or other security incidents.
25. Client Responsibility
You are ultimately responsible for your Bitcoin.
By using our services, you acknowledge that you are responsible for:
-
understanding your wallet setup;
-
securely storing your seed phrase;
-
securely storing any passphrase;
-
maintaining appropriate backups;
-
verifying receiving addresses;
-
verifying transaction details;
-
protecting your devices;
-
protecting your accounts and passwords;
-
maintaining access to necessary recovery information;
-
understanding the risks associated with your chosen setup; and
-
deciding whether to proceed with any Bitcoin-related action.
If you do not understand an action, do not proceed until you understand what you are doing.
26. No Guaranteed Recovery
Dive Into Bitcoin cannot guarantee that lost Bitcoin, forgotten passphrases, damaged wallets, missing backups or incorrectly configured wallets can be recovered.
In some circumstances, recovery may be mathematically or practically impossible.
We do not guarantee the successful recovery of any wallet or Bitcoin.
27. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Dive Into Bitcoin will not be liable for losses arising from your use of Bitcoin, Bitcoin-related software, hardware wallets, exchanges, custodians or other third-party services.
This may include losses arising from:
-
lost or damaged seed phrases;
-
forgotten passphrases;
-
incorrect transactions;
-
transactions sent to incorrect addresses;
-
excessive transaction fees;
-
hardware failure;
-
software bugs;
-
malware;
-
phishing;
-
scams;
-
third-party service failures;
-
exchange insolvency;
-
theft;
-
loss of backups;
-
multisignature configuration errors;
-
privacy loss;
-
changes to Bitcoin software or network rules;
-
inability to recover a wallet; or
-
actions performed contrary to instructions or security recommendations.

28. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, any limitation of liability contained in these Terms applies only to the maximum extent permitted by law.

30. Affiliate Links and Commercial Relationships

The existence of an affiliate relationship does not change your responsibility to independently determine whether a product or service is appropriate for you.
31. Intellectual Property

32. Consultation Bookings
Consultation availability is not guaranteed until a booking has been confirmed.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate contact information when making a booking.
You should attend consultations with the necessary equipment available and functioning where the consultation involves technical setup.
Technical problems, internet interruptions, software incompatibilities or hardware failures may prevent a consultation from being completed within the scheduled time.
Where appropriate, additional sessions may be required.
33. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Cancellation, refund and rescheduling conditions displayed during the booking process form part of these Terms.
Clients should provide reasonable notice when requesting to reschedule or cancel a consultation.
Dive Into Bitcoin reserves the right to reschedule a consultation where circumstances outside our reasonable control prevent the consultation from proceeding.
34. Refusal or Termination of Service
Dive Into Bitcoin reserves the right to refuse or discontinue a consultation where we reasonably believe continuing would be unsafe, unlawful, misleading or inappropriate.
We may also stop a particular procedure if we believe the client does not sufficiently understand the consequences of the action being performed.
In particular, we may decline to assist with an irreversible transaction where we believe adequate verification has not been performed.
35. Prohibited Use
You must not use Dive Into Bitcoin's services for unlawful purposes.
We reserve the right to refuse assistance where we reasonably suspect that our services are being used to facilitate fraud, theft, money laundering or other unlawful activity.
36. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated periodically to reflect changes to our services, technology, legal requirements or business practices.
The current version will be published on the Dive Into Bitcoin website with the date it was last updated.
Continued use of our services following an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.
37. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in South Australia, Australia, subject to any rights or protections that apply under Australian federal law or other laws that cannot legally be excluded.
38. Contact
Questions regarding these Terms & Conditions or our services can be submitted through the official contact details provided on the Dive Into Bitcoin website.
For security reasons, never include a seed phrase, private key, wallet passphrase or other sensitive wallet credentials when contacting us.
Final Bitcoin Security Reminder:
Bitcoin gives you the ability to directly control your money.
That freedom also means that mistakes can have irreversible consequences.
Before performing an important Bitcoin operation:
Stop. Understand. Verify. Then act.
Never share your seed phrase.
Never enter your seed phrase into a website.
Never approve a transaction you do not understand.
Always verify important transaction information independently and, when using a hardware wallet, verify critical information on the device itself.
If you are uncertain about what an action will do, do not proceed until you understand it.
